The Quebec Act
The Quebec Act of 1774 was passed by the British Parliament to replace the government that Canada had at the time of the Proclamation of 1763. The Quebec Act restored the civil law of the French and gave the French-Canadians the freedom to worship how they chose to. The colonies liked to consider the laws part of the Intolerable Acts because it extended Canadian boundaries into American soil.
